Dealer Billing

Dealer Billing

Billing, back in control. Dealerships paying for Auto Navigator were stuck with a default Stripe dashboard. I designed the billing experience that replaced it: invoices in one place, overdue balances with a clear next step, and AutoPay so the monthly bill stopped being a task.

Role

Product Designer, owning the design end to end with feedback from my design director

Scope

Billing dashboard, AutoPay, invoice payments, payment methods, and a view across dealerships

Audeience

Dealerships paying for Auto Navigator, from single stores to groups managing several locations

Outcome

Leadership reported a 40% reduction in accounts with overdue payments

01

Overview

Auto Navigator started as a free product for dealerships. When it became paid, billing ran on a default Stripe dashboard. It collected payments. It did not help anyone manage them.

I designed a new billing dashboard for reviewing bills and statuses, with a clear push toward AutoPay. I owned the design end to end, working with my design director and partnering with research.

PROBLEM & RESEARCH

The bill was there. The visibility wasn’t.

The bill was there. The visibility wasn’t.

Accounts went overdue because nobody saw the invoice. Dealership interviews with our research partner surfaced three needs, and each one shaped a decision.

AutoPay on the bill.

Dealers wanted to pay automatically and couldn’t. The toggle now sits under the monthly cost.

02

Invoices a click away.

History and downloads were buried. They’re on the dashboard, with an overdue notice that points to payment.

03

One selector for every location.

Groups couldn’t move between stores. A global dropdown scopes the whole account.

The Dashboard

A clearer view of what needed attention.

Monthly cost, payment method, and invoice history in one place. An overdue notice points straight to payment. Statuses make paid, upcoming, and overdue readable at a glance.

AUTOPAY

One less monthly task to remember.

AutoPay was the point of the redesign. Off, the card explains what turning it on does. On, it shows the scheduled date and the account it pulls from. Dealers can read the state without opening anything.

Billing history gives every row a due date, a status that reads at a glance, and a download. Unpaid invoices keep their own pay action for the common case. Select several and the header updates with the count and total, keeping the less common workflow just as direct.

FEEDBACK & IMPACT

40%

Reduction in accounts with overdue payments

Less overdue.
Less to keep track of.

Following launch, leadership reported a 40% reduction in the number of accounts with overdue payments. Larger dealerships valued the convenience of AutoPay, while smaller, more hands-on dealers appreciated easier access to billing history.
